ISMS Manager (m/w/d)

Job Summary

The role of ISMS Manager involves taking full responsibility for information security across the organization and steering the continuous improvement of the security management system. The incumbent will lead ISO‑27001 certification efforts, assess risks, and advise senior management on strategic and operational security matters, ensuring that security requirements are effectively embedded in everyday work. Key responsibilities include operating the ISMS, identifying optimization opportunities, and evolving existing security processes. The manager will analyze complex IT and security topics, evaluate potential threats, and recommend appropriate safeguards. With expertise in ISO 27001 and BSI Grundschutz, they will develop security policies, verify their implementation, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. Additional duties involve planning internal audits, coordinating certification activities, and preparing for external assessments. As the main point of contact, the ISMS Manager will counsel business units, IT teams, and external vendors on information security, risk management, and compliance, while also overseeing incident response plans and conducting regular exercises to validate recovery procedures.
