Senior Backend & Cloud Engineer

Job Summary

We are a fast‑growing startup based in Hannover that develops a KI‑powered computer‑vision platform for industrial quality inspection. The role focuses on designing, building and maintaining the backend services that power our full‑stack applications, ranging from data management and annotation to model training and deployment. Key responsibilities include creating RESTful APIs, managing SQL databases and migrations, architecting cloud infrastructure with Kubernetes, containerised deployments, S3‑compatible storage and CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring reliable operation of production systems through monitoring, incident response and performance optimisation. You will also manage identity and access (SSO, roles, permissions) and contribute to the product’s security posture. The ideal candidate brings at least four years of professional experience in backend engineering, a solid grasp of databases, and hands‑on experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes/Docker), CI/CD, and infrastructure as code. Experience with Agile tools such as Linear or Jira, and a pragmatic, autonomous work style are essential. Fluency in German and good English are required for day‑to‑day communication.
