Senior Hardware Engineer – Drone Port

Job Summary

Quantum Systems is developing autonomous aerial systems and is looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to lead the hardware development of its Drone Port platform. The role involves acting as the technical point of contact for all hardware aspects, guiding the product from concept through prototypes, verification, and series readiness. The engineer will collaborate closely with mechanical, embedded software, systems engineering, testing, manufacturing, procurement, and external partners to deliver reliable, manufacturable hardware. Responsibilities include designing PCBs, wiring harnesses, and system architectures; managing bills of materials and component availability; coordinating production and testing; and providing technical leadership to the hardware team. Candidates should hold a degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics or a related field, with several years of experience in hardware system design, prototype development, and industrialisation. Strong CAD skills (CATIA V5 preferred) and experience with BOM management, supplier coordination, and prototype testing are essential. Excellent communication in English is required; knowledge of German is an advantage.
