Senior Software Engineer – GIA Platform

Job Summary

GEICO is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join its GIA Platform team. The role focuses on creating high‑performance, low‑maintenance, zero‑downtime systems that support the company’s insurance business transformation. The engineer will work closely with Distinguished and Staff Engineers, product managers, and cross‑functional teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable services. Key responsibilities include leading the technical roadmap, driving continuous delivery practices, writing production‑ready code, and managing CI/CD pipelines. The candidate will also provide day‑to‑day engineering leadership, conduct code reviews, and support production environments while ensuring security best practices. The ideal applicant has deep expertise in modern OOP languages such as Go (preferred) or .NET, extensive experience with DevOps, Kubernetes, and cloud‑native architectures, and strong proficiency in Test‑Driven Development and data‑structure design. A solid background in relational and NoSQL databases, gRPC/RESTful integration, and automated testing is essential.
