Job Summary

Wagmo, a modern pet‑healthcare startup, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its remote Pet Parents squad. The role focuses on expanding the company’s AI‑driven claims automation system, improving the pipeline that reads invoices, determines coverage, and processes reimbursements. You will own the end‑to‑end development of new features, from design to production, and partner closely with Product to prioritize next‑steps. The position demands proven experience shipping LLM‑powered solutions that handle real users and real revenue, with a strong focus on reliability, cost‑efficiency, and maintainability. Key responsibilities include refactoring the existing pipeline for modularity, reducing claim processing costs while maintaining accuracy, and implementing new automation to increase the proportion of claims that resolve without manual review. You will also work on AI‑based veterinary record parsing to enhance coverage decisions. Candidates should have a track record of building production‑grade systems, performing rigorous evaluation and rollback planning, and making data‑driven trade‑offs between model cost and quality. Daily use of AI code‑review tools and coding agents is expected to accelerate delivery without compromising quality.
