Service Mesh Engineer

Job Summary

Bright Vision Technologies is seeking an experienced Service Mesh Engineer to lead the design, deployment and operation of service mesh platforms across its Kubernetes estate. The role focuses on platform engineering, mesh adoption, mTLS, traffic policy and enabling application teams to leverage mesh benefits without unnecessary complexity. The successful candidate will have a proven track record operating Istio or Linkerd in production, deep knowledge of Envoy proxy internals, and strong Kubernetes networking expertise. Responsibilities include building and maintaining secure, observable and reliable service‑to‑service communication, managing certificate lifecycles, configuring traffic policies, and driving mesh adoption across multiple clusters. The engineer will also develop tooling in Go or Python to automate mesh operations and collaborate closely with application teams and platform engineers. Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, possess 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, SRE or networking roles, and demonstrate strong troubleshooting and communication skills. Preferred experience includes multi‑cluster deployments, exposure to Cilium, eBPF, SPIFFE/SPIRE, and zero‑trust initiatives. This is a 100% remote full‑time position based in the United States, with a competitive annual salary range of USD 95,000–115,000.
