Software Engineer II – CIAM

Job Summary

Affirm is looking for a mid‑level Software Engineer to join its Information Security team and help build the next generation of customer identity and authentication solutions. The role focuses on developing backend services that power registration, login, authorization, and account lifecycle flows for both B2C and B2B experiences. You will work with modern identity platforms such as Okta, Auth0, and ForgeRock to create robust, secure, and reliable authentication features. As a CIAM engineer, you will design, code, test, and deploy APIs in Python or Kotlin, turning product requirements into production‑ready services. The position requires collaborating closely with product, engineering, and security teams, participating in code reviews, and using logs and metrics to improve reliability. The environment values clear communication, a strong problem‑solving mindset, and a genuine curiosity about how authentication works. This is a full‑time, remote‑first role in the United States. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, solid backend development fundamentals, and a passion for building secure, customer‑facing authentication features.
