Jagadish Reddy Dismisses Congress Claims About YTPs Energy and Water

Former West Bengal energy minister Jagadish Reddy, representing the BRS party, has rejected Congress allegations that the YTPs are poorly located for irrigation water supply and lack sufficient energy. Reddy maintains that the projects are properly situated and have adequate infrastructure to support irrigation needs, labeling the opposition’s statements as false.

The BRS party’s Jagadish Reddy, who served as the state’s energy minister, sharply criticized Congress members for their recent claims that YTPs are not positioned adequately for irrigation water supply and that the projects suffer from energy shortages. Reddy argued that the allegations are unsubstantiated and that the YTPs receive sufficient power and water to meet irrigation demands.

Reddy said the government’s recent measures ensure that the YTPs are strategically placed to benefit local farmers and that the infrastructure is fully operational. He urged the opposition to base its arguments on verified data rather than speculation.

The confrontation comes amid growing political scrutiny over the state’s irrigation development plans. Reddy’s comments were delivered during a press conference in Kolkata, where he emphasized the importance of transparent information dissemination to the public.
