The airport authority announced that from 1 October 2024, additional flight slots will be available at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport. This will enable several airlines to launch new routes and increase the frequency of existing services to key domestic destinations such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chennai.

IndiGo, Air India and SpiceJet have confirmed plans to add several daily flights to these cities, while also expanding services to other regional centres. The new slots are expected to ease congestion during peak hours and improve overall travel experience.

In addition to domestic growth, the airport will introduce a handful of international connections to nearby countries, catering to both business and leisure travelers. The expanded schedule is part of a broader effort to strengthen Kolkata’s position as a major air‑traffic hub in West Bengal.

Travelers can anticipate shorter wait times and more flexible travel options, reflecting the airport’s ongoing commitment to enhancing connectivity for the city and the surrounding region.
