Kolkata’s municipal department has rolled out special arrangements for senior citizens during the puja season. Dedicated entry lanes and volunteer guides are being set up at major temples to help the elderly navigate crowds more comfortably.
Mobile medical vans and first‑aid stations will be positioned near temple premises to provide quick health assistance if needed. Trained volunteers will also be on hand to offer support and information.
Traffic management plans include dedicated bus routes for senior citizens and alternate pedestrian pathways to reduce congestion near temple gates. Local police will coordinate with traffic police to ensure smooth flow.
The city will monitor the implementation of these measures and adjust as required to guarantee a safe and inclusive experience for all elderly worshippers.
