An artist based in Asansol has finished a life‑size wax model of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He hoped to present the sculpture directly to the PM, but government protocol prevented a personal encounter. The statue will be unveiled in Kolkata under the watchful eye of the BJP state leadership. After the local ceremony, arrangements will be made to send the artwork to the Prime Minister.
The unveiling is being organised by the BJP’s Kolkata unit, which will handle the event logistics and ensure compliance with official guidelines. The artist has expressed hope that the PM will receive the statue in person once the necessary approvals are in place.
The event is expected to attract media attention and visitors interested in political memorabilia and local craftsmanship. It also highlights the role of regional artists in contributing to national political culture.
While the statue’s arrival at the Prime Minister’s residence is pending, the Kolkata unveiling marks a significant moment for both the artist and the party’s outreach efforts.
