The state government has confirmed the development of an Astro Park in Nadia, a move designed to attract space‑related research, technology firms and startups to the region. The park will provide infrastructure and support for companies working in satellite technology, aerospace engineering and related fields.

At the same time, a Biotech Hub is set to be established in Kalimpong. The hub will focus on pharmaceutical research, biotechnology innovation and the manufacturing of biopharmaceutical products. It is intended to leverage Kalimpong’s strategic location and existing scientific expertise.

Both projects are part of West Bengal’s plan to diversify its economy beyond traditional industries, creating high‑skill jobs and encouraging investment in advanced technology sectors. The government will work with private partners and research institutions to ensure the parks meet industry standards and attract national and international companies.
