The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) held a review meeting to assess the status of two major routes—NH 66 and NH 544—near Thrissur, focusing on construction, maintenance, upgrades and safety measures.

During the session, NHAI officials announced that lighting and warning signs will be installed along both highways within the next two weeks, as part of a broader safety enhancement plan.

Beyond illumination, the agency will implement additional safety upgrades over the following month. These measures aim to eliminate existing hazards and improve traffic flow.

NH 66 and NH 544 are vital corridors connecting Kerala with neighboring states. Timely completion of the safety work is expected to reduce accidents and support regional mobility.
