The Indian Sports Ministry has set up a dedicated task force to look into the possibility of bringing Formula One back to Indian soil. The panel will include members from the Department of Tourism and Commerce, ensuring that tourism potential and commercial aspects are carefully weighed.

In addition, the task force will feature representatives from the governments of Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, two states that have shown interest in hosting high‑profile motorsport events. Their involvement is expected to provide state‑level insights and support.

The committee will examine the economic impact, infrastructure readiness, and logistical challenges of staging an F1 race. It will also consider the benefits for local businesses and tourism, as well as the potential for India to join the global F1 calendar.

While details on the exact composition and timeline remain to be released, the move signals a renewed interest from the government in reviving India’s presence in international motorsport.
