Udhayanidhi Accuses TN Govt. of Blocking High‑Level Union‑State Committee

Tamil Nadu’s opposition leader Udhayanidhi Stalin has criticised the current TVK‑led government for attempting to halt the work of a high‑level committee on Union‑State relations. The committee, set up during the previous DMK administration under M.K. Stalin, is now stalled as research scholars report they cannot continue their duties. The opposition says the present government’s actions have effectively paralysed the committee’s second report, hindering inter‑governmental dialogue.

Udhayanidhi Stalin, a prominent opposition figure in Tamil Nadu, has publicly denounced the state government led by T. V. Karthikeyan for allegedly trying to halt the functioning of a high‑level committee on Union‑State relations. The committee was established during the prior M.K. Stalin‑led DMK administration and is currently preparing its second report.

According to the opposition, the present government’s measures have created a situation in which the research scholars assigned to the committee are unable to continue their work. This stoppage, they claim, has effectively stalled the committee’s progress.

Udhayanidhi’s remarks come amid growing concerns about the state’s engagement with central authorities and the impact of administrative delays on inter‑governmental cooperation.
