Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has announced that a new investigation will be launched into the alleged rape and murder of RG Kar. The decision comes after questions were raised about the adequacy of the previous probe. Adhikari’s statement indicated that the state’s law‑enforcement body will re‑examine the evidence and conduct a comprehensive inquiry.
The RG Kar case has been a matter of public concern, with the victim’s family and activists demanding a transparent and conclusive investigation. The fresh probe aims to address any gaps in the earlier investigation and to ensure that justice is served.
