The West Bengal government sent a delegation to participate in the nationwide celebrations of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, joining a gathering that included officials from the central government. The event, held in a neutral venue, aimed to showcase solidarity with the ruling party.
Later that day, a separate ceremony took place at the BJP office in Kolkata. A life‑size statue of Prime Minister Modi was unveiled by party leaders, symbolising the party’s growing presence in the state.
The statue, standing at several feet tall, was presented amid applause from party workers and local supporters. It is expected to become a focal point for future political rallies.
Both occasions underline the BJP’s strategy to strengthen its foothold in West Bengal through public displays and participation in national celebrations.
